Meet the Author

Mara is a lifelong writer with a knack for telling captivating, relatable stories with a tinge of witty, self-deprecating humor. Mara is a triathlete, ultramarathon runner, dog mom and full-blooded Gemini. Mara publishes monthly nutrition and fitness articles in The Citizen newspaper, and self-published her debut book, ‘Turning Thirty’ in January 2023. ‘Turning Thirty’ is a collection of short stories from the first few decades of Mara’s life. These short stories are funny, sad, disgusting, concerning, but mostly just real. This book makes the perfect read for anyone going through a big transition in life; graduating college, getting married, having a baby, getting fired from your dream job, or taking a year-long sabbatical from adulthood.

During working hours Mara manages a heavy-duty truck and auto repair shop (not a joke), but still manages to fit writing into her schedule when inspiration strikes. Mara has always dreamed of writing for a profession and would love to end up on the Kelly Clarkson daytime talk show discussing one of her New York Times Bestselling books.

Mara lives in Auburn, NY with her love Ryan, her handsome Australian Shepherd Oakley, and her bed-hog Golden Retriever Reed. Mara loves to hike, explore, drink too much coffee, kayak, bike, and be anywhere the sun shines.
